Job Summary:
Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor to teach a full load of undergraduate courses in Business Computing (CSE 148). CSE 148 is an introduction to business-oriented computer skills based on Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access and SQL (structured query language) involving extensive hands-on use of electronic spreadsheets and database software by students. Examples and exercises stress problem-solving in a business context. Appointment to start Fall 2023.

The Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering offers undergraduate Bachelor of Science degrees in computer science and in software engineering. A Master of Science in Computer Science degree is the highest degree program offered by the department. The department’s faculty is comprised of 28 tenured or tenure-track professors, lecturers, teaching professors, and visiting assistant professors. Each semester, the department offers approximately 25 sections of the Business Computing course that is taken primarily by students in degree programs offered by the Farmer School of Business.

Minimum Qualifications:
Required: An earned doctorate in a business or computing field or a closely related field for appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor, or Master's degree in business, information technology, computer science, engineering or a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five years working with the relevant application(s) in a professional environment for appointment as an Instructor.

Desired Qualifications:
Considerations may be given to candidates with prior experience in teaching courses related to business and/or computing.
