University of Hawai‘i, Kapi‘olani Community College, Arts & Humanities Department is seeking applications for the History lecturer position.  Other Conditions: For placement into the lecturer pool beginning Spring 2024. Subject to availability of funds and actual staffing requirements.  
 
Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Teach World History courses in a variety of formats including face to face, online, and hybrid.
2. Prepare course syllabus and reports related to teaching and student progress.
3. Assess student learning using course competencies and program learning outcomes.
4. Maintain one office hour per week for each class taught.
5. Work under the general supervision of the discipline coordinator/division chairperson in integrating teaching efforts with other instructors in the discipline.
6. Submit self-assessment reports based on student and peer evaluations.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Master’s degree in History

Desired Qualifications:

1. Demonstrated ability to work with community college students.
2. College-level teaching experience (at a community college or four-year college).
3. Work experience related to courses being taught.
4. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively.
5. Familiarity with competency- and outcomes-based instruction.
6. Ability to effectively teach history online.
