General Summary

Specific Position Duties

• Maintain coverage in the Veterans Center to assist students as they come in to the VA office for questions, receive information, or turn in VA documentation.
• Answer phones for the VA office.
• Direct students to the appropriate office to assist them further with their needs on campus as a student.
• Assist students to complete admissions online application and/or benefit application.
• Assisting new students by providing information regarding to the benefits and documents required to use their educational benefits.
• Provide required documentation to students to complete for their file.
• Provide a one-on-one orientation to each student. 
• Reach out to students about completing their VA file to receive benefits.
• Reach out to students who have not registered for the upcoming semester.
• Monitor student’s records. 
• Help with checking final grades and monitoring for GPA requirements.
• Scan documents into the college archive system.
• File all documents after they are complete.
• Shred documents no longer required to maintain in the office.
• Serve as a representative of the VA office at college events.
• Assist in contacting veterans who have not returned to school over the last year to provide outreach.
• Assist setting up for Veterans activities for all campuses.
