Job Description:

BHCC is seeking dynamic adjunct faculty to teach in the Computer Information Technology Department during Spring 2024. Day and evening courses available. Primarily seeking instructors for on campus course delivery.

 

CIT-162 Cisco Networking I
This course introduces the architecture, structure, functions, components, and models of the Internet and other computer networks. The principles and structure of IP addressing and the fundamentals of Ethernet concepts, media, and operations are introduced to provide a foundation for the curriculum. By the end of the course, students will be able to build simple LANs, perform basic configurations for routers and switches, and implement IP addressing schemes.

 

CIT-167 Cisco Networking II
This course describes the architecture, components, and operations of routers and switches in a small network. Students learn how to configure a router and a switch for basic functionality. By the end of this course, students will be able to configure and troubleshoot routers and switches and resolve common issues with virtual LANs, and inter-VLAN routing in different versions of IP networks.

 

CIT-267 Cisco Networking III
This course describes the architectures and considerations related to designing, securing, operating, and troubleshooting enterprise networks. This course covers wide area network (WAN) technologies and quality of service (QoS) mechanisms used for secure remote access along with the introduction of software-defined networking, virtualization, and automation concepts that support the digitalization of networks. Students gain skills to configure and troubleshoot enterprise networks and learn to identify and protect against cybersecurity threats. They are introduced to network management tools and learn key concepts of software-defined networking, including controller-based architectures and how application programming interfaces (APIs) enable network automation.

 

Requirements:

• Qualified instructor through Cisco NetAcademy
• Commitment to advancing equity in the classroom
• Proven ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population
• Master's degree in related field or equivalent combination of experience and Bachelor's degree in related field

Preferred: College-level teaching experience, particularly at the community college level

 

Additional Information:

Salary: $1,291 per course credit
