The position Enrollment Specialist with our Accelerated College Education (ACE) Program is a part time (25 hours a week) position and is responsible for working with our PA Accelerated College Education (ACE) student population. This includes our current 4 high schools and 8-10 additional PA high schools. The position is a five year Grant Funded role.

Occasional meetings at different CCC locations and in the community may be required; travel to conferences and/or recruiting events may be required.

Prolonged time sitting/standing working with computers and monitors, ability to walk/move across campus including walking up and down stairs, ability to lift up to 20 pounds (occasionally may be more), repeated motions may include keyboard typing. Typical office and indoor building environments, occasional outdoor activity may be required.

Essential Functions

Student Advising & Recruitment Support (75%)

  • Initiates communication with potential ACE students about SUNY CCC being part of their academic future and the enrollment process, engaging the prospective student very early in the admission process to ensure a connection to the college begins as soon as the individual is identified as a SUNY CCC ACE prospective student.
  • Prepare Educational plans for ACE students and work with them in an advisory role
  • Assist Recruitment and Admissions with the ACE Senior Admission processing; including communications to the students, and high schools.
  • Ongoing communication with school counselors and ACE students.
  • Provide prospective students and their parents with detailed information about all aspects of the ACE programs and opportunities; including the High School CEO (College Education Online) and the Degree Trax Program.
  • Create and maintain positive rapport, collaborations and partnerships with stakeholders (community, high schools, businesses, GST BOCES).
  • Plan, implement, and participate in internal and external recruitment events to promote SUNY CCC and services provided for area high schools and prospective students
  • Prepare grant reporting and maintain the data collection for the ARISE grant.
Other ACE Office Duties 25%
  • Assist with registrations and paperwork for ACE students.
  • Assist with ACE Scheduling.
  • Assist with communication and mailings to ACE students, ACE high schools, and ACE parents.
  • Cross train with other ACE office duties.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

 

  • Excellent interpersonal communication, critical thinking, organizational, and writing skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Access, and other database software; knowledge of College Banner system preferred.
  • Proved ability to be high functioning user of Google and/or Microsoft Office Suites.
  • Demonstrated ability to function effectively and efficiently in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures involved in academic advising.
  • Knowledge of the various degree programs offered at SUNY CCC.
  • Understanding of community college philosophy and familiarity with secondary school district schedules.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Willingness to take initiative, be self-directed, and ability to follow through with completion of tasks and projects.
  • Demonstrates commitment to accomplishing work in an ethical, efficient, and cost-effective manner.
  • Ability to effectively convey information verbally and in writing, demonstrate effective listening skills, and display respect for and openness to other people’s ideas and thoughts.
  • Ability to accept changes to job requirements, policies, workload, etc., as well as learn new methods, procedures, or techniques resulting from change with the ability to clearly approach problems and find solutions.
  • Demonstrates support for the College’s goal of becoming a more diverse, inclusive, and culturally aware community and practicing anti-racist/biased behaviors.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience in student services related area at a community college OR Associates degree and two years of experience in student services related area at a community college
  • Notary Public registration or ability to obtain
  • Must have valid driver’s license for travel to off-campus sites, as required
