Oakton College is looking for a dynamic and student-centered Adjunct Faculty member to join our Radiography Program in Evanston, IL.
As an Adjunct Faculty member, you will inspire and educate students in a culturally diverse learning environment, leveraging active learning methods and evolving technologies to enhance student success. Additionally, you will contribute to course development, student evaluation, and curriculum enhancement, ensuring a dynamic and impactful educational experience.

Compensation: Part-time faculty are paid on a lecture hour equivalents (LHE) basis. For most courses, the LHE is the same as a credit hour. For others, the LHE represents additional work for teaching the class, such as grading papers for Composition classes or teaching a class with a laboratory section (computers, languages, and the sciences); in those cases, the LHE represents a figure higher than the credit hour. All part-time faculty start at the beginning pay rates, regardless of the level and type of experience obtained elsewhere. For the 2025-26 academic year rates are $1191/LHE for faculty without doctorates and $1262/LHE for faculty with doctorates.
Position Responsibilities:
- Create a course syllabus for each assigned class that aligns with the standard syllabus and outlines course objectives, content, and grading criteria
- Develop engaging course presentations and instructional materials and deliver dynamic instruction to students in person on campus or online
- Instruct, advise, and support enrolled students while also evaluating their performance and maintaining clear, accurate records and grades
- Participate in department meetings and adhere to instructional decisions to ensure alignment with academic goals and standards
- Hold regular office hours, ensuring at least one hour per week for every three credit hours taught
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or above required
- Collegiate-level teaching experience, with proficiency in course development, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising
- 2 years+ (4,000 hours) of clinical radiography experience
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and registration (or equivalent)
