Lakeland Community College is seeking an experienced Associate Director of Financial Aid. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in management or a related field and three years of experience in a financial aid office with supervisory responsibility.
RESPONSIBILITIES (Non-inclusive):
- Assist the Director in developing procedures to ensure compliance with state, federal, and college regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Assist the Director in the preparation and approval of all federal and college financial aid awards.
- Plan and implement financial aid awards by reviewing applications, making awards, and reviewing the awards process.
- Responsible for processing all federal and private loans. Must have an in-depth knowledge of federal direct loan programs and private loans, including all federal regulations and processing of loans.
- Knowledge and understanding of R2T4 regulations and processing.
- Investigate and evaluate new financial aid programs at federal, state, and local levels; establish eligibility for approved programs; complete application forms for new programs; prepare evaluations of new programs.
- Advise students and their families with financial needs regarding available programs, eligibility, and related matters.
- Prepare announcements and brochures to publicize the availability of financial aid programs.
- Assist the Director in the preparation of monthly and annual reports; attend meetings and functions related to financial aid.
- Facilitate a positive team environment within the financial aid office with a customer service focus.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Training and Experience Required/Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in management or a related field and three years of experience in a financial aid office with supervisory responsibility.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities is acceptable.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of modern office procedures; hard file and computerized database maintenance (SIS experience required). Banner experience strongly preferred.
- Skills in analyzing information; coordinating office functions within equipment and personnel constraints; solving problems.
- Abilities to apply appropriate state and federal regulations related to College record retention and student registration; coordinate efforts of others; establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships; perform duties in a timely, effective, and efficient manner.
Physical Activity Level
Sedentary – Mostly sitting, occasional standing and lifting up to 10 lbs.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
This is a 12-month, full-time supervisory/professional position.
The annual salary is at grade 4 of the Administrative and Supervisory/Professional salary schedule. See Lakeland Compensation and Benefits for administrative employees. The hiring range for this position is $56,735 - $87,939 depending on qualifications and experience.
