Job Summary

UM-Dearborn, College of Arts, Sciences and Letters invites applications for the position of a part-time Lecturer in the Criminology, Law, and Criminal Justice Program for Winter 2025, January 1, 2025 through April 30, 2024. Contractual full-time rate per term is $25,500; term salary is dependent on number of courses taught and course effort percentage. The successful candidate will be comfortable teaching both in person, hybrid, and asynchronous/online modalities for the following Criminal Justice course:

CRJ 417/517: Crimmigration: Intersections of Immigration and Criminal Justice, a 4 credit-hour course at 33.33% effort

This course explores the intersection(s) of the criminal justice and immigration systems with special attention to race, class, and gender. It covers the evolution of American immigration policy and its application, the criminalization of immigrants, immigrant offending and victimization, the policing of immigrant communities, and the immigrant experience in the United States. Students cannot receive credit for both CRJ 417 and CRJ 517. 

Based on performance and enrollment, Lecturer may be appointment for the Fall 2025 term.

Required Qualifications*

JD, master's degree, or PhD in criminology, criminal justice, sociology, or a related field
