About the Role:

Works within the information technology infrastructure within our laboratory environments. Responsible for optimizing instrument operational efficiency and supporting instrument data generation, ensuring that scientific research and data collection processes are supported by reliable and efficient IT systems. Requires close collaboration with laboratory staff, across IT departments, and vendors to address technology challenges specific to lab operations.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):
  • Manage data storage within complex scale out IT storage systems and security to safeguard sensitive scientific data and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

  • Act as the primary relationship manager for all levels of Lab teams in support of optimizing and integrating lab systems with IT infrastructure

  • Manage and coordinate vendor maintenance activities within the Lab IT environment and vendor relationships

  • Collaborate with instrument vendors and manufacturers to optimize data generation processes and ensure seamless integration with IT systems

  • Analyze and configure support scientific instruments and equipment to maximize data generation efficiency and streamline data capture and analysis

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting to address IT issues that impact instrument efficiency and data generation optimization

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance instrument data analysis capabilities and operational efficiency

  • Communicate effectively with laboratory staff at all levels to understand their unique technology needs and autonomously provide tailored IT solutions to optimize instrument data generation and analysis

  • Other job duties as assigned

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field and 2+ years of experience OR

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent and 6+ years of equivalent experience, training, or certifications

  • Proven experience in optimizing instrument data generation and supporting IT infrastructure within laboratory environments, with a strong understanding of scientific workflows and data management

  • Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and experience in collaborating with instrument vendors to drive operational efficiency

  • Solid understanding of data storage, security best practices, and regulatory requirements applicable to instrument data in laboratory settings

  • Experience integrating instruments with complex IT infrastructure services such as scale out storage systems

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address technical issues in a timely and effective manner, particularly related to instrument data optimization

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders and convey technical information to non-technical audiences

  • Contribute to the advancement of cutting-edge scientific research by ensuring that our laboratory technology infrastructure optimally supports instrument operational efficiency and data generation for impactful scientific discoveries

  • Extensive experience managing and analyzing requirements for instruments such as Sciex, 3brain, and Olympus

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment

  • Ability to maintain professional attitude under high demand situations

  • Has developed specialized skills through job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience

  • Applies in-depth skills and understanding in multiple processes and procedures to carry out assignments or has developed these skills in a single area

  • Demonstrated problem solving skills

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skill with the ability to work with various team members and maintain a positive attitude

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $127,500.00-$184,800.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 30% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
