Job Summary:

Adjunct Positions are filled by semester on an as needed basis. Applicants in this applicant pool are reviewed when the department has an immediate need to fill a vacancy. Review of applications will then stop for the semester once the vacancy has been filled.

Adjunct (part-time) faculty to teach courses in Integrated Reading and Writing including Non-Credit Academic Support labs for discipline-specific reading and writing. Depending upon program needs and the candidate’s qualifications, teaching assignments may be on LCC’s downtown campus, at an extension center (within 40 miles of the downtown campus), and/or via online delivery methods. Current needs are primarily in face-to-face teaching. Adjunct faculty are expected to work collaboratively with senior department faculty to develop course content consistent with official course syllabi, to deliver to instruction to students, and to be available for student assistance and advising outside of class. Additional responsibilities may include participation in course assessment, department/program meetings, professional development activities, and other duties as assigned.

Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Adult Education, Education, Special Education, Reading, English, Language Arts, Literacy, Linguistics, TESOL, or comparable area of study documented by degree/course descriptions PLUS minimum 3 years teaching experience with at-risk populations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Course work in Sociology or Psychology.
